InterLegis Incorporates Visual Analytics Technology into DataMapper

Popular electronic discovery culling and preview module of Discovery360™ reduces data collections
prior to processing for litigation, regulatory requests and internal investigations

Dallas, TX – April 14, 2008 – InterLegis, Inc., a Dallas-based innovator of Web-based litigation and electronic discovery technologies, announced today their new visual analytics capability is integrated with DataMapper, the widely popular data preview module within Discovery360™, the company’s flagship e-discovery product. In addition to robust reporting and graphing tools, DataMapper offers document culling and preview prior to processing an entire data collection. This reduces overall processing costs and expedites document review for law firms and corporations facing large cases and projects.

Introduced in January of this year, visual analytics is InterLegis’ latest technology development that is revolutionizing the way legal professionals see their data. Visual analytics offers graphical mapping of data to not only simplify the search and review process, but also to provide the user a more engaging and interesting method for what typically has been a very tedious and mundane activity. This unique technology is now applied to DataMapper to further improve the pre-culling phase of the electronic discovery process.

DataMapper is a secure, browser-based tool that delivers considerable time and cost savings to legal teams by allowing them to reduce the document collection before processing by testing "what-if" scenarios and removing duplicate documents. Legal teams can set their electronic data discovery strategy early, culling large volumes of documents online using keywords, concepts, authors, custodians, dates and a full range of metadata to discover potentially relevant and responsive documents. And now with the addition of visual analytics, DataMapper offers an even deeper analysis of the data.

Users of DataMapper can now choose from six different tools to create a visual mapping of large collections of unstructured data, allowing them to analyze any set of attributes, not just concepts. The result is even faster culling by leveraging the visual nature of the human mind to quickly see relevant trends in data – pre-processing.

More and more corporations and their outside counsel are finding it best to control their data throughout as much of the process as possible, which is among the key benefits offered by InterLegis’ DataMapper. Additionally, the ability to reduce collections to more manageable sets on the front end prevents users from paying to have irrelevant data processed.

DataMapper, including the new visual analytics capability, is a complimentary service offered to InterLegis clients using the company’s EDD processing services. Clients are charged only on the export of selected data; Tiff and/or native export files are included at no additional cost; and the export can be made to any common load file format. As a result, InterLegis’ EDD processing service is among the most streamlined and cost-effective in the litigation support services market.

InterLegis’ DataMapper preview module (now with integrated visual analytics) still integrates seamlessly into the company’s Discovery360 review application.
